At 6 pm on Thursday, the national team announced that the patellar tendon was off.

After that, a magnetic camera examination was done in Innsbruck, which thus showed a really broken knee.

The anterior cruciate ligament is completely off and the season is thus over.

- What I have learned now after MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) and that a doctor has checked it is that it is the meniscus, cruciate ligament and patella (patellar tendon).

So it's the three that need surgery.

External and internal ligaments are a bit worn but not off, says Monsén to SVT Sport.

How long he will be gone is hard to say but the season is over.

- I feel good under the circumstances but have had a lot of pain in my knee, says Monsén.

According to national team doctor Jakob Svanberg, they are now planning for surgery in Innsbruck soon.
