The 100 meter butterfly has been one of Sarah Sjöström's best disciplines during her career.

She has, among other things, four European Championship golds and one World Cup gold in the distance in the short track World Cup.

On the long track, the 28-year-old has, among other things, Olympic gold, five World Cup golds and five European Championship golds.

But when the short track world championships in Abu Dhabi start this weekend, the 28-year-old will opt out of the branch due to the schedule.

- I'm ready to let go of that branch slowly now.

This program does not fit 100 meters butterfly as it collides with 50 meters freestyle.

50 meters freestyle is still my main sport right now so I do not want to risk anything there, she says and continues:

- I am very happy with the setup I have here at the WC with 50 meters butterfly and 50 meters freestyle.

I have swum those branches fast all season and also been close to the world record of 50 freestyle.

It will be fun to see what you can do now.

"It will be another challenge"

Sarah Sjöström has shown good form in ISL recently and has been close to breaking new world records.

But in the ISL final, she saw the American Kelsi Dahlia take over her seven-year-old world record in the 100 meter butterfly.

- I recently lost the world record of 100 butterflies.

Then maybe you can compensate for it by taking it on 50 free or 50 butterfly instead.

As I said, I have been pretty fast this season on these stretches.

But then there has often been a race before so I was tired when I drove the branches.

It will be another challenge here now that you are fresh in the body.

The Short Course World Championships in Abu Dhabi start tomorrow, Thursday.
