The Dubai Council said in a press statement that the meeting reviewed the elements of modernization in the Dubai Sports Excellence Model, through which the performance of clubs, football companies, academies and their employees is evaluated, as last October witnessed honoring the winners in the categories of the eighth session.

The statement pointed out that «the Dubai Sports Council is working to update the model in line with the developments witnessed by the state in general and at the level of the sports sector in particular, and in a manner that enhances the performance of sports institutions and their employees in all areas of sports work and other administrative, financial and technical aspects, and other fields, The elements of modernization on the model are also commensurate with the post-Covid-19 phase, giving greater support to the academies sector and honoring the most successful academy in providing talented and distinguished players for clubs and national teams.”

The meeting was briefed on the list of international events that will be organized during the coming period, according to the highest quality standards and in a manner that enhances the position of Dubai and the UAE on the global sports map and its position in creating the future of sports in the world.

The list of events includes various championships, foremost of which are the Dubai International Parachute Jumping Championship, the Dubai International Crossfit Championship, as well as the Al Marmoom Ultra Marathon, and bicycle races, including the Emirates International Tour, as well as the Dubai Desert Classic Golf Championship, the World Arch and Arrow Championship for People of Determination and the Iron Man Championship and Dubai Tennis Championships.

The Board of Directors discussed the requests of a number of international sports federations and organizations, Olympic and non-Olympic, to transfer their headquarters to Dubai, given the quality of life and development in all supporting fields, starting with the development of the health sector and medical care, the development of housing facilities, sports and service facilities, means of transportation, legislation and facilities provided in all fields. .

The previous years witnessed the transfer of the headquarters of the International Cricket Council, the International Bowling Federation and the regional headquarters of the badminton and hockey federations, and instructions were directed to work on facilitating the transfer of the international federations of their headquarters to Dubai in accordance with the laws and regulations.
