Bayer Leverkusen lost a 2-0 lead for the third time within a few weeks.

In the top game of the Bundesliga, the Werkself only managed to score 2: 2 (1: 0) against 1899 Hoffenheim despite two goals from Patrik Schick and are not yet sure of hibernating on a Champions League pitch.

The Czech EM star had apparently put Bayer in the lead with his goals seven and eight in the last three games (37th / 63rd).

The Jokers Angelo Stiller (80th) and Munas Dabbur (83rd) but equalized for the guests.

In added time, Leverkusen's Moussa Diaby was sent off after a frustration foul.

Hoffenheim is still sitting Bayer just one point behind.

Leverkusen had already given up 2-0 leadership in Cologne (2: 2) and on Sunday in Frankfurt (2: 5) at the end of October.

Schick now has 16 goals this season in only 13 missions.

This is a record in the 43-year history of the Leverkusen Bundesliga.

Only Bayern star Robert Lewandowski scored two more goals, but Schick seems to be in real danger on the way to his fifth striker cannon in a row.

TSG rewarded for a strong second half

Leverkusen's young national player Florian Wirtz wrote a small piece of Bundesliga history with his starting line-up: at the age of 18 and 226 days, he replaced Giovanni Reyna from Dortmund as the youngest player with 50 Bundesliga appearances. And as it fits this story, he was allowed to cheer after less than five minutes - but for a maximum of two seconds. Referee Tobias Stieler had the offside offensive player shot in so that the scene could be checked on video, but then immediately whistled him back.

An early goal would certainly have livened up the game.

So the duel between the two teams, who are known to be strong offensive, turned out to be a lively one, but initially one without the hoped-for goal-area scenes.

Instead, both of them worked hard in midfield, referee Stieler had some trouble keeping the hustle and bustle under control.

Then both turned up - but both were unlucky.

Leverkusen's left-back Piero Hincapié hit the inside post (28th) after a free kick from ten meters, Hoffenheim's Chris Richards hit the crossbar after a corner (35th).

Two minutes later, Bayer deservedly took the lead when Schick volleyed a cross from Moussa Diaby.

Hoffenheim's goalkeeper Oliver Baumann was unlucky in his rescue operation, shortly afterwards he prevented the 2-0 (41st) with two strong saves against Schick and Wirtz.

After the break, the previously rather staid guests increased the pressure, but only at the end were they rewarded.

Schick, who headed a cross from Hincapié, initially seemed to have made everything clear.

On the other side, Kramaric headed similarly well - but only hit the post (66th).

But then Stiller came, who happily hit the next goal, Dabbur then saved the point for the guests with the hoe.

In the heated stoppage time, Moussa Diaby saw yellow-red.
