The Calgary Flames are forced to postpone the games against the Chicago Blackhawks tonight and the Nashville Predators tomorrow.

The reason is that a total of six players in the squad tested positive for covid-19.

The club has temporarily closed its training facility and the team will not play any matches until 16 December at the earliest.

The club confirms that Swedish Elias Lindholm is one of the players who tested positive.

In addition to Lindholm, Andrew Mangiapane, Brad Richardson, Adam Ruzicka, Chris Tanev and Nikita Zadorov are also on the covid protocol.

In addition, one of the management staff has tested positive.

This is the third NHL club in a short time to be forced to postpone matches due to covid.

The Ottawa Senators and New York Islanders have also been affected in the past.
