Learn about the Champions League draw after it was repeated.. fiery confrontations

The draw for the round of sixteen of the European Football Championship, which was held today, Monday, at the headquarters of the European Union (UEFA) in the Swiss city of Nyon, resulted in more than one fiery confrontation.

The French team, Paris Saint-Germain, was drawn against Real Madrid, the most crowned Spanish club with 13 titles, as well as Inter Milan against Liverpool, crowned with the title in 2019, and Atletico Madrid in the face of Manchester United.

The defending champions Chelsea will meet with Lille in France, last season's runner-up Manchester City with Sporting Lisbon, six-time champion Bayern Munich with Austrian Red Bull Salzburg, Italian Juventus with Villarreal and Benfica with Ajax.

The draw was drawn for the first time earlier today and resulted in a meeting between Benfica with Real Madrid, Villarreal with Manchester City, Atletico Madrid with Bayern Munich, Red Bull Spalzburg with Liverpool, Inter Milan with Ajax, Sporting Lisbon with Juventus, Chelsea with Lille and Paris Saint-Germain with Manchester United.

However, UEFA decided to return the draw after the withdrawal process witnessed a technical error, as it witnessed the selection of a ball bearing the name Manchester United to face Villarreal, which is not possible according to the rules of the tournament, where the two teams met in the group stage, and the ball was re-drawn so that Manchester City faced Villarreal, But UEFA then announced that the lottery would be completely re-drawn.

"After a technical problem with the third-party service provider's program responsible for directing officials (participating in the drawing of the lottery) to qualified teams to face each other, an error occurred in the draw for the round of 16 of the Champions League," UEFA said in the statement, in which it announced the return of the draw.
