"A guy who cannot see, logically, he has nothing to do there".

But David Labarre does not care about logic because the fact that he is visually impaired does not prevent him from practicing his passion: climbing.

Assisted by a friend, this athlete climbs roughly distinguishing the holds: “I see light gray spots and others darker.

The shots on the wall will create a bit of contrast, shade, so I manage to climb like that ”.

But David is not limited to climbing: he also practices skiing, mountain biking and in 2012 obtained a silver medal in blind football, football for the visually impaired.

He even climbed Mont Blanc in 2019!

So many exploits that fascinate his friend and guide: “He's completely crazy!

How do you want to do that without seeing anything?

".

For David, it's just a matter of adaptation: “I grew up like that, I live with it!

".

To better understand his motivation, accompany David on a climb captured on video by our partner Brut.
