Malte Stefansson, 40th man in yesterday's hunt start, had to do his first World Cup relay today, when he replaced the sick Jesper Nelin.

But it was not a success for the 21-year-old, who made his World Cup debut as recently as yesterday.

Heavy for Stefansson

He had a good starting position, when he went out in the lead after impressive stretches by Peppe Femling and Martin Ponsiluoma.

But Stefansson had a hard time in the track, and also needed two extra shots in the horizontal shot and one in the horizontal.

When he handed over after his first relay in his career, it was like the fifth man.

The fourth distance Sebastian Samuelsson had a full 1.24.1 up to leading Norway, and over 20 seconds up to third place Russia.

- I did not really have my legs with me today, damn what it took, if you can say so.

The shooting was okay anyway.

It was a bit boring lying down, I might have been a bit stressed or unfocused.

I was not really with.

But luckily it was not a round in any case, Stefansson says to SVT Sport.

- But I did the best I could.

Two misses by Samuelsson

When none of the teams in front shot away, Sebastian Samuelsson had both to go fast and shoot fast and flawlessly.

But there was a barrier on both standing and lying, which meant that Sweden was never close to a podium.

In the finish he was fifth., 1.30.2 after winning Norway.

- He did not go too full on the final stretch, states SVT Sports expert Björn Ferry, who was still satisfied with the Swedish effort:

- Seven extra shots, no rounds.

They had taken it in advance.

Norway thus won, led by a phenomenal Johannes Thingnes Bö on the third leg - where the relay was in principle decided.
