The Swedish skating star Nils van Der Poel was one of the big pre-favorites to get this year's Bragdguld.

This after taking double World Cup gold and setting a new world record of 10,000 meters.

But the prize went to the national jumping team - Malin Baryard, Henrick von Eckermann and Peder Fredricson - who took Olympic gold in teams.

After Friday's World Cup victory in Calgary, Nils van der Poel expresses some skepticism about the Bragdguldet as a concept.

- It would have been great fun to get a Bragdguld.

It's fun with these awards.

But it is also tricky, difficult to decide if I am better at skating than Armand Duplantis is at high jump or the riders on his horses, he says.

The 25-year-old does not place too much emphasis on the missed price.

- It is a strange competition to participate in. It is probably mostly about paying attention to the sport, not that someone is better than someone else.

It is difficult to compare.

You have to take it with a pinch of salt.
