The European Football Union (Uefa) has finally canceled the group game of the Europa Conference League between Tottenham Hotspur and Stade Rennes.

The association announced this with reference to the draw for the next round, which is already planned for Monday.

The game had to be temporarily removed from the schedule on Thursday after eight players and five coaches from the traditional London club had tested positive.

Rennes hadn't agreed to that.

Meanwhile, the Spurs game in the Premier League on Sunday at Brighton and Hove Albion has been postponed to a later date.

Regardless of the last remaining group G preliminary round match, the French were already group winners with eleven points and thus a participant in the intermediate round.

Third-placed Tottenham (7) could have overtaken Vitesse Arnheim (10) with a win.

According to the Uefa statutes, it is to be expected that the game will soon be rated 3-0 for Rennes.

This would have eliminated the Spurs from the competition.
