The International Federation of American Football has a new president.
And it is a Frenchman who now occupies this chair.
Pierre Trochet was indeed elected on Saturday at the head of the IFAF which brings together 74 national federations.
A former French American football international, he succeeds the Canadian Richard MacLean, in office since 2017.
The goal of the Olympics
The IFAF, founded in 1998 and "currently in the process of full recognition by the IOC", hopes to join the Olympic program through "flag football", a 5v5 and contactless version of American football.
This could be done on the occasion of the Olympics-2028 in Los Angeles.
