Already this spring, Ebba Andersson, Frida Karlsson, Oskar Svensson, Jens Burman and injured duo Linn Svahn and Jonna Sundling were selected for the Olympics.

On December 21, SOK presents another group of Swedes who get the chance in Beijing in February.

National team manager Anders Byström said before the season that the competitions in Ruka, Lillehammer and Davos will be extra important, if you are to take an Olympic place before Christmas.

That is why SOK is in place

The last chance to perform at the top and get an early selection is now this weekend.

Then SOK's sports director Thomas Engdahl, together with SOK's meteorologist Tomas Mårtensson, will be in Davos.

- It is for two reasons.

To watch the competitions and meet active people and leaders, to be able to answer the questions they have before the Olympics.

We will also visit the ramparts in Livigno on Monday and Tuesday where they lie and test, Engdahl says to SVT Sport.

How important is this weekend, given the Olympic competition?

- Since we want to take out as many as possible on December 21, it is basically the last thing that happens, so for some it is very important, if you want to take an early selection.

The main part should be ready on December 21, so they can have a good training period and aim for the Olympics.

What will you look for?

- I will check the competitions and the results, then I will reason with the coaches afterwards.

The weekend is not entirely decisive.

It is an overall assessment of what has been.

Because a skier is not selected on December 21, the door is not closed completely.

- We can take out skiers until 16 January.

But it is not a scenario you want, it will be difficult with the preparations.

But it may be someone who has had illness or injury concerns that you want to wait for.

About Kalla's chances: "Far from driving for her"

A skier that Engdahl will not have the opportunity to see this weekend is Charlotte Kalla.

After weak results in the beginning of the season, the 34-year-old stays at home in Sundsvall to train.

Will she be able to take an Olympic seat?

- Yes, I think so.

We'll see how they reason since she's not going to Davos.

It's far from run for her.

I keep my fingers crossed that she will find the shape, it would be fun to take Charlotte to the Olympics.
