The dream of the Swedish Championship gold came true in the final round.

But on Saturday, AIK missed the gold on goal difference.

On Tuesday, the club announced that they have agreed on an extension with Sebastian Larsson.

- It feels fantastic fun to have another season in AIK to look forward to.

I really want to give it another chance when we were as incredibly close as we were this year and I really got a big boost when our wonderful audience returned to the arenas again, says Larsson.

The 36-year-old most recently came from English Hull City and joined AIK after the World Cup in Russia 2018. He has so far played 121 competitive matches and accounted for 24 goals in the yellow and black jersey.

- Sebastian Larsson's significance for AIK on and off the pitch speaks its clear language.

I am incredibly happy and satisfied that Seb will be part of AIK Football's continued development and that we will see more of Sweden's best right foot, says the men's sports director Henrik Jurelius in a press release.

The new agreement extends to December 31, 2022.
