Ibrahimovic wants to stay for life with Milan

AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic said he wanted to stay at the Serie A club until the end of his career, adding that he was afraid to stop playing due to uncertainty about his next step after retiring.

The 40-year-old Swede's contract with Milan expires at the end of the season, but Ibrahimovic has no intention of retiring.

"I want to keep playing for as long as possible," Ibrahimovic told Italy's popular "Chi Tempo Che Fa" program on Sunday.

"Let's put pressure on Milan through this program to extend my contract and I hope to stay in Milan for life. I still have some goals to strive for. I want to win the Scudetto again."

"I don't know what will happen to me after I retire from football so I'm afraid to stop playing. We'll see, but I want to keep playing so I don't have any regrets."

Ibrahimovic was on the bench in Milan's 2-0 victory over bottom club Salrnitana on Saturday to take the league lead by one point from their closest pursuers.

Stefano Pioli's side host Liverpool in the Champions League on Tuesday, where they only need a win to have any chance of reaching the last 16.
