Stenson, accompanied by Jordan Spieth, was first out in the fourth and final round of the Hero World Challenge in Nassau, Bahamas.

After the eighth hole, however, the unexpected happened - both he and Spieth struck out from the wrong tee.

- We went to the ninth hole tee, where we hit on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and put the ball down and hit, a couple of nice shots, Stenson says to the PGA Tour's website.

When the players reached the ninth hole, they were informed that they had in fact struck out from the tee of the 17th hole.

"Had helped"

It was certainly since the organizer made a change of course that the mistake could have happened.

A message that did not reach, according to Stenson, who laughed at the miss afterwards.

- A small piece of information had help.

But I will double check that I knock out from the right tee in the future, he says.

Both he and Spieth were given two duty teams due to the offense and finished 19th and 20th in the end - last in the competition.

But considering that the two players, who both won the charity competition earlier, went out first because they were already last before the round, they were in good spirits despite their placements.

They even joked about packing up and going home already after the rash.

- He (Stenson) asked if we could go directly to the airport.

I said, "I'm on," Jordan Spieth told the PGA Tour.

Norwegian Viktor Hovland, 24, won the competition.
