[Beijing Winter Olympics] A mountain rescue team is set up in the Yanqing competition area. Helicopter rescue will be launched in case of emergency

With the approaching of the Beijing Winter Olympics, the Yanqing competition area gave birth to China's first snow event rescue team recognized by the International Snow Federation—Alpine Rescue Team.

They are responsible for ensuring the organization and operation of alpine skiing events, and are on duty 24 hours a day to ensure the safety of personnel in the competition area.

Rescue team members must not only master a variety of rescue skills, but also have a strong skiing ability.

According to Yang Jing, a member of the Alpine Rescue Team of the National Alpine Ski Center, the alpine skiing track is relatively steep and the snow is harder. The types of injuries are basically bleeding, fractures and other traumas.

In response to different situations, the rescue team will take measures such as bandaging to stop bleeding after arriving, and helicopter rescue will be adopted when the situation is urgent.
