Algeria national football team defeats Lebanon in the Arab Cup

 The Algerian team defeated its Lebanese counterpart 2-0 during the match that brought them together today, Saturday, in the second round of the fourth group competitions in the Arab Football Cup, currently being held in Qatar.

The two goals of the Algerian national team were scored by Yassine Brahimi in the 69th minute from a penalty kick, and Tayeb Meziani in the third minute of overtime for the match.

The match witnessed the expulsion of Hossam El Din Merzik, the player of the Algerian national team, in the 78th minute, and Qassem El-Zein, the player of the Lebanese team, in the 83rd minute.

The Algerian team raised its score to six points at the top of the standings, and the Lebanese team remained without points.

In the event that Egypt defeats Sudan in the match that takes place later in the day, it will officially qualify for the quarter-finals.
