There was never really any talk.

Sweden was, according to plan, superior in the World Cup premiere against Uzbekistan.

However, the Uzbeks were decent in the match initially and Sweden led "only" with 11-8 halfway into the first half.

But at position 13-8, Sweden took time out and after that the Swedish team ran away with the match and won by a full 46-15.

- We have not seen so much video on them so we did not really know what they would bring.

In the first half we tried to recognize what they can and what was their thing and then in the second half we close again completely and that is what makes us win today and can counter them in the second half, says Linn Blohm.

The World Cup debutant impressed

Clara Lerby, 22, is making her first WC for Sweden, and she got off to a flying start in her championship debut.

The Trelleborg-born left winger started the Swedish goal scorer in Torrevieja and was eventually noted for five goals.

- It's nice for self-confidence that everyone gets to feel what it's like to play in here, says Clara Lerby.

Now Puerto Rico, who lost 55-15 against the Netherlands before Sweden is set against the latter national team in the presumed group final, is waiting.

- We have not talked much about Puerto Rico.

It is a match we are favorites in and that we will win, says Lerby.

Anna Lagerqvist, two goals in the match, went on a tough blow and bled from the nose.

The situation occurred in the second period and Lagerqvist did not play more in the match after that.

How serious it was is still unclear.
