Ali Saleh and Cayo lead the national team to victory over Syria in the Arab Cup

Today, the national team defeated its Syrian counterpart 2-1 in the first round of the second group of the Arab Football Cup, which is currently being held in the Qatari capital, Doha.

Al-Abyad advanced in the 24th minute through Caio Lucas, before Ali Saleh added the second goal in the 30th


minute. In the 60th minute, Ward Al-Salama scored the only goal for the Syrian team.

The match witnessed Mahmoud Khamis, the UAE national team player, being expelled after receiving a second yellow card in the sixth minute of the added time in place of the second half.

The group matches had started earlier, with the Tunisian team winning over Mauritania 5/1.
