• The A la Nantes association presented on Monday the legal model it would like to put in place at FC Nantes.

  • In the process, several associations of supporters dissociated themselves from Nantes.

  • A presentation that takes place in the context of a declared desire to take over the club by the Nantes Collective, represented by Mickaël Landreau.

FC Nantes is not (yet) for sale. And yet, the A la Nantaise association is projecting itself again. After having launched a popular shareholder base about ten years ago, and collected 100 € from around 500 lovers of the Yellow and Green club, the association presented its project for the future of the club. That of a SCIC: a cooperative society of collective interest. A legal model that would bring together all the players if the club was taken over. The objective: to integrate several colleges into the club's board of directors: supporters, regional companies, as well as a reference shareholder.

This presentation of A la Nantes comes even as the Nantes Collective and Mickaël Landreau aim to take over the reins of FC Nantes, after Waldemar Kita, the current president of the club. Two SAS (simplified joint stock companies) were therefore formed to create new capital around the FCN. Canaris en action (SAS d'A la Nantes) and SAS du Collectif Nantes. Something to get lost in. “Our ambition is to ensure that all the players can talk to each other and join forces. We do not want to divide or exclude with this initiative. The word collective is obvious on the grounds of the FCN ”, launches Jean-Pierre Clavier, vice-president of Nantes, who intends to“ play collectively ”. But no representative of the Nantes Collective was present at this press conference. As if the two projects were moving forward without each other. With a risk of confusion among supporters? The question is put to Jean-Pierre Clavier: “Probably. But this is not a competing project. We must explain that we do not wish to instrumentalize the supporters. "

Supporters ask to be reimbursed

However, the latter very quickly made a choice, putting lead in the wing of the Nantes project.

Seven associations * immediately chose to dissociate themselves from Nantes, through a press release: “At a time when almost all the associations of FCN supporters have never been so close to a project for the future virtuous, this initiative appears at best as an individualist act, at worst as an act of political recovery and distrust, ”they write, denouncing“ a solitary enterprise ”from Nantes.

Supporters who had participated in the popular shareholding of A la Nantes in the past are asking to be reimbursed.

Supporters who no longer follow, and a Nantes metropolis which is taking a step back. Ali Rebouh, vice-president of Nantes metropolis in charge of sports, explained that he was "first of all in a listening posture" in relation to the SCIC project in Nantes. “On the SCIC, I still have trouble, in a landscape where we talk about millions of euros in pro football, we have too much of the impression that it is marked social and solidarity economy. This model has only been used in dramatic situations, such as Tours or Bastia. I still have some reservations about this economic model, in the current context. “A la Nantes wants to play it collectively. A mixture of genres that does not appeal to supporters. The latter have chosen their camp, relegating the association to the sidelines of a possible recovery.
