Sirius joined the Fotbollsallsvenskan in 2016 after winning the Superettan.

The Uppsala team finished 2017 in seventh place during their first season in the highest league, came in thirteenth place (four points from qualifiers) in 2018, in eleventh place in 2019, in tenth place in 2020 and now secured the contract for games in the Football Allsvenskan also in 2022 in the penultimate round. .

- I'm so damn happy with how we defend our half of the field and our goal in this match.

That we now have to go to Friends (where AIK chases gold on Saturday) and play without stress and pressure in that match with this gang in the pressure that will be there, it will be cool, says the Sirius coach.

Uneven season

This season has once again been an elevator ride between the top and bottom half of the table for Sirius.

Daniel Bäckström, who took over from Henrik Rydström before the season, has received praise for Sirius wanting to play a strong and creative football.

At the back, however, there have sometimes been revolving doors with at most five goals conceded in a match (Djurgården away in July), which has given a lousy goal difference while the team has sometimes had difficulty performing offensively and sometimes been frustratingly ineffective in the finals.

1-0 on corner

On this minuscule Monday night in November, however, it was Sirius who showed sharpness, will and efficiency immediately.

Jacob Ortmark was first out when he with both strength and finesse cut to rock hard on a volley after a corner and made 1-0 after eleven minutes.

The goal was the Sirius midfielder's fourth of the season.

Just seven minutes later it came 2-0.

Laorent Shabani looked to be attacking in the middle, but remembered their instructions to focus on wing attacks instead.

Weak away result

- We roll on.

Our game has become sharper in recent months and we feel more dangerous out there today.

The hedge is not really on its toes but I think they will be in others, said 1-0 goal scorer Jacob Ortmark in Discovery + break interview.

But there he was wrong.

Häcken, who has only won three away games in total this year - two in July and one in October - never put any major pressure on the home team in the second half either.

- We will probably be completely played out, stated Häcken attacker Alexander Jeremejeff briefly in Discovery +.

Sirius controlled the match well after the break and also increased to 3-0 through a penalty that Nahom Girmai Netaby sent in with elegance in extra time.

Monday's victory now means that Sirius has seven points down to the qualifiers and thus is already ready for continued play in the Football Allsvenskan.

It will now instead be Halmstad and Degerfors who have to decide which team will be forced to stay in the qualifiers.
