Therese Johaug has dominated cross-country skiing for a long time.

The Norwegian has, among other things, 14 World Cup golds and several Olympic medals on the merit list.

But in today's 10 kilometer classic, she was defeated by Frida Karlsson after a hard duel.

It was even from start to finish but Johaug was in the end 13.7 seconds behind Karlsson.

- It is surprising I had thought that Therese would take it.

It shows that it is not just about congratulating Therese before the race, says Ragnhild Haga to VG.

Johaug: "Revenge sucking"

It was the first time since 2015 that Johaug did not win the 10 km classic individually - at the same time as it was Karlsson's only second World Cup victory.

- Frida was stronger than me.

I gave everything I had but she was better today.

Frida was the best, there is nothing else to say.

I am hungry for revenge for tomorrow, says Therese Johaug to SVT Sport and continues:

- There was one who was better than me today.

I did what I could, but she was stronger.

She's in great shape.

I have to sharpen up.

Tomorrow's hunt start in Ruka starts at 10.30.
