And scored the "Liver" quadruple Portuguese Diego Jota (2 and 32), Thiago Alcantara (37) and Virgil van Dijk (52).

Liverpool raised its score to 28 points in second place temporarily, pending the results of the rest of the matches of this round, and Southampton's balance stopped at 14 points in 14th place.

In the second match, Arsenal beat its guest Newcastle with two goals without a response, scored by Bukayo Saka (56) and Gabriel Martinelli (66).

Arsenal raised its score to 23 points in fifth place, and Newcastle United's balance stopped at 6 points in the last twentieth place.

In the third match, Aston Villa, led by new coach Steven Gerrard, won their second consecutive victory in the competition, and came at the expense of Crystal Palace 2-1.

Aston Villa's goals were scored by Matthew Targett (16) and John McGinn (86), while Crystal Palace's goal was scored by Marc Guehy (5th minute of stoppage time for the match).

Aston Villa raised its score to 16 points in 11th place, with a goal difference behind Crystal Palace, whose score stopped at 16 points in tenth place.
