Egypt national team coach: The Arab Cup is preparatory and I strive to win it

The Portuguese coach, Carlos Queiroz, the coach of the Egyptian national football team, confirmed that the Arab Cup is a preparatory tournament, but he seeks to win it without a doubt.

Queiroz said in a press conference held today, Saturday, in Cairo, that the Arab Cup is a preparatory tournament for his players, but this does not mean not seeking to win it, and he is interested in that and works for it.

He added, "We decided to include Ahmed Hegazy, the defender of the first football team in the Jeddah Saudi Federation, as a replacement for Imam Ashour, the Zamalek player, who was infected with the Corona virus, in the list of the Arab Cup."

He explained, "I am interested in the Egyptian national team in the first place, which I have the honor to train, and I am working from now on to prepare well for the African Nations Cup and the play-off match to qualify for the World Cup 2022."

And he stressed that he is in contact with Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet, the Aston Villa winger, after his return from injury, to determine his condition.
