The lottery, which was drawn today, Friday, in the Swiss city of Zurich, decided the competition tracks in the European supplement that qualifies for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Twelve teams in the European Supplement are competing for the remaining three seats for Europe in the World Cup finals, in 3 tracks whose features are drawn by the lottery.

The list of contenders in the European play-off includes the ten teams that ranked second in their groups in the European qualifiers, along with the teams of Austria and the Czech Republic, the best group leaders in the European Nations League in the 2020-2021 edition, who did not qualify through the qualifiers, and neither of them ranked second in their group in the European qualifiers.

The first classification included the teams of Portugal, Scotland, Italy, Russia, Sweden and Wales, which are the teams that host the semi-final matches on their soil.

While the second classification included the teams of Turkey, Poland, North Macedonia, Ukraine, Austria and the Czech Republic.

According to the results of the draw, the first track will witness the meeting of Scotland with Ukraine and the meeting of Wales with Austria in the semi-finals. The two matches will be held in Scotland and Wales, while the final will be held on the ground of the winner of the semi-final match between Wales and Austria.

The second track will witness the meeting of Russia with Poland and Sweden with the Czech Republic, and the final will be held on the winner's land in a semi-final match between Russia and Poland.

While the third track will witness the meeting of Italy with North Macedonia and Portugal with Turkey, and the final will be held on the land of the winner of the confrontation between Portugal and Turkey.

This means that if Portugal and Italy overcome Turkey and North Macedonia, respectively, they will meet in the final of the third track and qualify for the World Cup finals in Qatar.

The draw for the continental play-offs to qualify for the 2022 World Cup resulted in the match that qualified for the playoffs from Asia faced the qualifier from CONMEBOL, and the qualifier from CONCACAF faced the qualifier from Oceania.
