“Other people of Asian descent and I were told things like 'elephant washers'.

In the UK, the cricket world is rocked by racism scandals within teams and institutions.

Azeem Rafiq, an English player of Pakistani origin, testified to this racism before a parliamentary committee: “Kevin, that was the name that the captain gave to all people of foreign origin, and he said it in a very contemptuous.

He did it in public, in the locker room, on the pitch.

"

Within the Yorkshire County Cricket club, Azeem suffered from this discrimination for several years.

When he starts to complain about it, we don't take him seriously.

He left the club following a family problem, and refused the money offered to him for his silence: “It was a big sum for me at the time.

I knew it was an ordeal for my wife, an ordeal for me, and I could never have taken this trauma.

I left the country.

I went to Pakistan.

I didn't want to come back.
