It started with James hitting Stewart in the temple with his elbow when they both went in for a penalty return in the third period.

Several teammates and officials broke in to separate the players, but it took a whole bunch to get a stop on the 2.03 meter long Stewart.
The two players were eventually sent to the locker rooms.
