Hwang Seon-woo, a leading swimmer in Korea, entered the breaststroke event for the first time in his life. In terms of individual medley training, I challenged a weak event, and I confirmed the possibility by winning a silver medal.

Hwang

Seon-

woo started his first breaststroke race without a sign of nervousness.

Although the muscles used in the main event are completely different from the freestyle and I am not familiar with the stroke, I took the lead from the beginning by breaking the current, and I took the first touch pad with a record of 1:3:73, taking first place in the group and second place overall.

[Sunwoo Hwang / National Swimming Team: (Is this your first time participating in a breaststroke competition?) It was my first time swimming (starting) when I was 6 years old. 2nd place was my goal, but I think it's good that I achieved that goal.] The

reason I challenged the breaststroke was for an individual medley that alternates between 4 strokes.

Hwang Seon-woo broke Park Tae-hwan's Korean record for more than 2 seconds even after running in the 200m individual medley without any training at this year's national sports event, and won the bronze medal in the 100m individual medley at the World Cup last month.

He competed with world-class players and took the lead in the early butterfly and backstroke, but fell behind in the breaststroke.

Hwang Seon-woo, who has confirmed that he is competitive enough, is planning to compete in the individual medley and freestyle at the short course world championships next month by improving the breaststroke, which is a weakness, as much as possible.

[Hwang Seon-woo/National Swimming Team: It is true that I am greedy for individual medleys, but it is not significantly different (with world-class players), so I think that it can be supplemented with a lot of practice.]

Hwang Seon-woo, who confirmed the possibility in a new challenge, will 1) will compete in the main event, the 200m freestyle.
