When the Norwegian national team released their squad for this weekend's competitions in Ruka, there were 19 skiers, eleven women and eight men.

Included in the squad was of course Therese Johaug who in this weekend's Norwegian premiere in Beitostölen outclassed all opposition in the distance races.

The big star Johannes Hösflot Kläbo is also in the squad.

He missed this weekend's competitions partly because of a cold, but also because his grandfather has been hospitalized after a stroke.

This weekend's World Cup competitions in Ruka will thus be his premiere race.

Petades

A skier who expressed a strong desire to compete in Ruka was the young shooting star Helene Marie Fossesholm.

The 20-year-old won the Norwegian championship last season.

But national team coach Ole Morten Iversen says that they have chosen not to take her.

- We assess Helene's situation as if she did not show good enough form.

Therefore, Ragnhild Haga was selected, based on her results from the weekend, says Ole Morten Iversen to the Norwegian Ski Association.

Helene Marie Fossesholm felt hung over and chose to give up the competitions in Beitostölen.
