The Spanish newspaper "SPORT" reported that Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez is interested in the inclusion of Algerian striker Baghdad Bou Najah, the top scorer of the Qatari club Al Sadd.

The newspaper pointed out that Xavi is aware of the capabilities of Bounedjah, who played alongside him at Al Sadd club, before he supervised his training during the period prior to his transfer to Barcelona.

She indicated that Bounedjah may be the solution to Barcelona's offensive problems, in light of reports confirming the imminent retirement of Argentine Sergio Aguero due to his suffering from an irregular heartbeat, the long absence of Danish striker Martin Braithwaite due to injury, in addition to the lack of readiness of young striker Ansu Fati.

The newspaper reviewed the numbers of the Algerian striker, who scored 11 goals during this season, and was the top scorer in the Qatari league last season, and explained that the deal to include Bounedjah is suitable for the complex financial conditions facing the Catalan club.

Xavi led Barcelona's first match on Saturday, and managed to lead the team to a victory in the neighboring field of Espanyol with a single goal, a victory that Barcelona fans hope will be the beginning of a return to the competition for the Spanish League title and approaching leaders Real Madrid, who is currently 10 points away from the club. The Catalan is in sixth place.
