William Eklund is on loan from the NHL and in Djurgården it is hoped that the 19-year-old will play a big role when trying to turn around the hitherto gloomy season.

Eklund had an assist in the 2-5 loss against Timrå on Thursday and when Djurgården chased victory against Linköping, he put in top gear immediately.

Within four and a half minutes, he had assisted Marcus Sörensen and Linus Arnesson and helped ensure that Djurgården took an early 2-0 lead after less than seven minutes of play.

In the second period, however, the match would take on a different shape.

Henrik Törnqvist both reduced and equalized and just before the end of the middle period, Linköping was suddenly in the lead when Patrick Russell found the right one.

Linköping managed to keep the positions in the third period, eventually won 5-2 and thus took their fourth straight victory.

- We let them into others too easily and it punishes itself, says a disappointed William Eklund to C More.

It was happier in the LHC camp:

- There is a completely different energy in the group and self-deprecating.

It's not always beautiful, but we stay in the matches and when we take over we are effective.

Then it does not hurt that powerplay has started to work, says team captain Jonas Junland.

Timrå kept a clean sheet

Timrå took the second straight victory after the national team break and left the jumbo seat.

The team followed up the away win over Djurgården by zeroing Oskarshamn in the 2-0 victory.

Timrå decided with two goals in numerical superiority in the second period through Jacob Blomqvist and Viktor Lodin.
