Earlier this week, Amnesty released a report showing that abuses against migrant workers in Qatar continue.

The all-Swedish clubs went out via Sef and said that they will not release their players for the national team's January tour if it was held in Qatar.

It made the Swedish Football Association move that camp to the Algarve.

Now all clubs in the Allsvenskan and the Superettan are signing the call with demands that Fifa act for the rights of migrant workers before the World Cup in Qatar 2022.

- Fifa has a responsibility to act when workers who participate in World Cup projects are at risk of violations.

Despite this, migrant workers across Qatar continue to be exploited.

Therefore, Amnesty demands that Fifa act and immediately take measures to ensure that everyone who works in connection with the World Cup is treated fairly and can enjoy their human rights, says Anna Johansson, acting Secretary General of Amnesty Sweden.

Sef believes that the International Football Association needs to influence Qatar further.

- We can no longer influence where the World Cup finals will be played, but we can put pressure and show Fifa that we think the decision was unacceptable already when it was made, and that Fifa must therefore take more responsibility for the situation on the spot, says Jens T Andersson.
