During the matches that the Egyptian team played against Angola and Gabon in the African qualifiers for the World Cup, Liverpool star Mohamed Salah appeared accompanied by two men walking next to him and not separated from him for a single moment, whether he was in training, matches or during warm-up operations.

Pictures spread on social media, showing the two men guarding Mohamed Salah during the Egypt-Gabon match that was held in Egypt, where Egyptian media indicated that the two men were protecting the Egyptian star.

Reactions varied in the Egyptian media. The Egyptian sports analyst, Alaa Nabil, on the "Echo of the Country" channel, rejected this procedure, saying: "A difficult view... you are between your family and your people, Salah."

In turn, broadcaster Hani Hatout said, commenting on the pictures spread after the match between Egypt and Gabon: "You could have done something more elegant than that."

At the same time, the sports broadcaster, Mohamed Farouk, through the Primo program, defended the procedure, stressing that Mohamed Salah is a great star and must be protected, and praised the step taken by the Football Association to protect the star of the Egyptian national team and Liverpool FC.

Although the two men were there to guard the Liverpool star during the Egyptian team’s match with its Angolan counterpart, a number of Angolan fans stormed the stadium during the match to take pictures with Mohamed Salah, which led to the match being stopped for more than 4 times.

During previous matches for the Egyptian player with his country, pictures spread of the fans entering the field after he scored goals to celebrate, which angered the Liverpool club, which demanded that the necessary measures be taken to protect the player.
