There are high hopes for another Olympic winter.

In Beijing, it is the debut of the Big Air discipline alongside slopestyle.

Double chances for Harlaut, who after the Olympic season intends to drop basically all competitors to find their way as skiers.

- It is difficult to develop your riding when it goes from competition to competition.

I've talked for a long time with Niklas (Eriksson), our coach about this.

I want to have some time to work out even cooler and sharper tricks, but still run some competitions to keep going.

I will not stop, but definitely reduce the competition, says Harlaut to SVT Sport.

A summer without snow

He has reached the age of 30 but feels more motivated than in a long time.

One reason is Harlaut's odd summer.

For the first time since his early teens, the Andorra-based Swede has completely opted out of chasing snow hours, both for filming and recreational skiing.

Six months without the white product has built up a great craving and also given him other opportunities and in fact more hope than ever.

The landing cushion inaugurated in Kläppen, Dalarna, inaugurated in December last year, has become a second home and given time to perfectly wear difficult tricks.

"Absolutely sick good"

In combination with the indoor ramp built in Åre, with an associated foam pit, Swedish freeskiing has been given the conditions to take its competition to new levels.

- Now here with the airbag, you get 20 jumps in two hours.

I always run a warm-up jump, but then there are 19 jumps where you can do your most difficult tricks, which you are really super afraid to do many times, yes, it's really good, says the freeski profile who longed to try everything on snow.

The premiere will be in Stubai, Austria, where the national team has been training in the last few weeks, then the Olympic season moves on to North America.

Now is the trick?

- I hope so!
