The young national team player Nina Koppang has been selected in the World Cup squad as an extra player.

She landed nasty on the right arm in connection with a shot against Metz in the Champions League and stepped off injured.

- I had my hand up to make a finish and made a diving shot in the air and landed on my right arm which I received with and stretched my elbow.

It went so fast that I barely had time to think anything but it hurt a lot, says Nina Koppang to SVT Sport.

"Not great timing"

Now she has a little more clarity about the injury.

- There is no fracture in the arm, however, the elbow has jumped out of joint and jumped back again.

The ligaments and ligaments around are affected, causing swelling and so on.

I do not know how affected they are as it was a regular X-ray and not MRI (magnetic X-ray).

- It was mostly to ensure that nothing was broken.

The talent says that she has never injured her arm in that way before.

- I do not know much yet but it is clear that it is not so great timing now.

It's nice though that it's the right arm.

It will not affect my handball game very much but it is clear that I feel a concern if it would be something that takes a little longer to heal.

Koppang confirms that she will not play a league match against Skövde on Thursday.

Today she will meet a physiotherapist who will look at her arm and give her exercises.

- On Thursday, I will do an MRI and a medical examination and based on that see what needs to be done.

Lundström also stepped off injured

Mathilda Lundström, teammate of Koppang and also selected in the World Cup squad, also stepped off injured against Metz.

Before the second half, she should have had her knee wrapped in the locker room.

"No major danger with Mathilda, according to Axnér", writes the handball national team's press manager Daniel Vandor in a message to SVT Sport.

Sweden will play double internationals against Montenegro on 26 and 28 November.

You can watch the matches on SVT.

Return in the World Cup is on December 3, against Uzbekistan.
