Frankfurter Eintracht has completed a third of the Bundesliga season.

With much less success than she aimed for before the start of the season.

After eleven match days, coach Oliver Glasner's team is fourth in the table with twelve points.

For comparison: In the previous season, the Frankfurters had collected 13 points at the same time and were in ninth place.

After that, the team of then head coach Adi Hütter got better and better and was even on the Champions League course for a long time.

At the moment, Eintracht only has a point average of 1.09.

That means: risk of relegation.

Even if none of the responsible parties want to put it that way.

These are the three biggest construction sites:

The weak offensive

16 goals conceded by Eintracht are only matched by twelve goals - including an own goal and a penalty.

Only four clubs in the Bundesliga have an even worse yield than the Hessen team.

In the top scorer list, the Colombian Rafael Borré is only in 34th place with two goals in eleven appearances.

Jens Petter Hauge and Filip Kostic also scored two goals in ten games each. In the preseason, Eintracht could rely on the accuracy of striker André Silva (28 goals), who had moved to Leipzig. In the past round, Eintracht scored 2.03 goals per game. Now there are only 1.09 goals so far. All four newcomers - Borré, Sam Lammers, Hauge and Jesper Lindström - have so far fallen short of expectations. Borré still has the best development. The national player convinces at least through hard work and his team-friendly game.

The interaction with flank donor Kostic has to get better in the flank-heavy Frankfurt game.

And the 1.74 meter tall professional is too small for high attacks from the defense.

The Dutchman Lammers has the greatest backlog.

The 24-year-old loan from Bergamo has so far not justified his commitment.

Although he scored two goals, he lost way too many tackles.

In addition, Lammers make too many bad passes.

It's not yet integrated into the game.

As things stand, Eintracht will have to tie a new target striker to itself during the winter transfer period.

He should know the Bundesliga, bring experience and guarantee a certain number of goals.

The right back

In terms of number, Glasner is spoiled for choice when it comes to right-back position. Danny da Costa, Erik Durm, Almamy Touré and Timothy Chandler are candidates for this area of responsibility. But none of them could recommend a regular place. In the 2: 1 last matchday in Fürth, Touré came into play for Durm in the 46th minute. Nevertheless, the Frenchman was replaced by the coach shortly before the end of the game. The sapling-change-game reached a new high point.

Touré was "injured for a long time". “I still expect more from Almamy on the defensive. It was too easy how Fürth got through behind him, ”criticized Glasner. The right-back position is an example of the great fickleness in the Eintracht game. Aymen Barkok, whom Glasner had recently tried in an emergency, also lacked staying power when it came to the will to assert. All candidates for the post have one thing in common: In the game forward, they permanently lack the penetration power. And they also show deficiencies when defending.

How the Frankfurters basically have a deficit in the discipline of duels. With a total of 46.1 percent won duels, they rank last in the Bundesliga. Even promoted Fürth, who is bottom of the overall table without a win, wins 48 percent of his duels. On the other hand, the Frankfurters are in second place with an average of 118 kilometers covered, behind Arminia Bielefeld.

Eintracht cannot be said to have had a mentality problem.

The last three competitive games against Fürth, Olympiacos Piraeus and Leipzig have shown that when the Hessians scored twice in stoppage time and equalized in the duel with Leipzig.

"I am absolutely convinced that our solidarity and our mentality will bring us a few more points before the winter break," said Glasner.

The defensive midfield

There is hardly any risk of goals from the defensive midfield.

The fact that the substitute captain Sebastian Rode scored the 1-0 in Fürth was the exception.

Djibril Sow, Kristijan Jakic or Makoto Hasebe, who mainly play on the six or eight, do not get enough into the opposing sixteen.

It is their core competence to prevent the opponent from attacking.

Nevertheless, they should also look for the end of the goal.

The required versatility of a six also includes livening up your own game with clever passes.

However, Sow and Jakic do not contribute enough to a profitable building game.

And game strategist Daichi Kamada lacks consistency this season.

His creative moments are too few.

All of this contributes to the fact that the Frankfurters often fail to put permanent pressure on their opponents.

The bottom line is that there are not enough scoring opportunities and shots on goal.

“In terms of football, we're not showing the level of the months before.

We have to improve through play.

We know that we have a lot to do and that not everything we conjured up on the pitch in the past few weeks was gold, ”said Chandler last.
