Abu Dhabi is witnessing today the launch of the 13th edition of the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship, which is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and organized by the Jiu-Jitsu Federation at Jiu-Jitsu Arena, and will continue until next Friday.

The tournament is witnessing a great turnout from world stars in the categories of juniors, adults and masters, as registration closed ahead of schedule, after the total number of participants reached 4000 players from more than 90 countries around the world.

The organization of the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship comes just two days after the conclusion of the World Championship hosted by Abu Dhabi, and witnessed the participation of more than 2,000 male and female players from 65 countries around the world.

Amid the high turnout of players from all over the world to participate in the tournament, the organizing committee increased the number of mats designated for fights on all days of the tournament to enable the largest possible number of players to compete and win the huge prizes it offers to the winners, the value of which this year amounts to about three million dirhams.
