China had expected to open flights for the Olympic participants, but setbacks in the fight against covid-19 with several canceled and postponed events mean that the plan must be abandoned.

Sweden's Olympic Committee, SOK, got to know it definitively very recently.

- It has been clear quite recently, a week, ten days, that there will be only a few occasional commercial flights.

We found out when the "playbook" came.

We and all other countries have had to work on alternative solutions, says Reinebo, who sees additional work.

- It is in line with what we can handle, then you always want decisions that affect the larger planning to come as soon as possible, at the same time I understand that you have not been able to.

I understand that the organizer and the airlines have had a picture of opening the regular a little earlier, but it is connected with the setbacks reported from China and now they have tightened the belt again.

Travels from "hubs" around Europe

What do you say about the setbacks, both in Europe and in China, ahead of the games in February?

- With guidance from Tokyo, I think they will solve it in a good way.

We have an opportunity to be and work in the bubbles in a better way because there are more places in China, says Reinbo.

Several countries will now come together and go from "hubs", gathering places, from different parts of Europe when it is time to go to Beijing, where the games will be decided 4-20 February.

The camps will take place in Sweden and other parts of Europe because it provides better training opportunities than in the closed China.

Beijing will be the first city to host both the Summer (2008) and Winter Olympics.
