The Organizing Committee of the Salam Cycling Championship, which is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced the program and dates of the main and qualifying races for the sixth edition of the event, which is back renewed and more powerful than ever, to consolidate its position In the 2021-2022 sports season, as the largest and most expensive in the world of amateur cycling, organized by the Office of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum - for Procurement and Finance, and most of its main races are held in the Seih Al Salam area in Dubai, in addition to the elite race dedicated For the sixth session and the celebration of "Expo Dubai 2020,", which will start from the Hatta area and end in the heart of the Dubai Expo, where the world meets.

A press statement said: “The competitions will continue for more than three months, starting from the 19th of this month until the 24th of next February. The first competition will be on the 19th with the qualifying race for Emirati amateurs, and then on the 26th of the same month with the qualifying race for the Hatta-Expo Elite Men’s Race. The first main race of the season will be held on December 14, which is the Emirati men’s amateur race, followed by the desert peace race on the 23rd of the same month.

The Hatta-Expo Elite Men's Race, the latest race on the championship calendar, will be held on January 13, in celebration of hosting the Expo 2020 Dubai World Fair, and highlighting the importance and aesthetics of the Hatta region.

The season continues, with the Golden Jubilee Race on January 18, as part of the celebrations of the fiftieth National Day for the founding of the UAE and its attainment of the highest levels of progress in all fields.

The second qualifying race for Emirati men will be held on February 4, followed by the second desert ladder race on the 10th of the same month, followed by the second Emirati men's amateur race on the 23rd of the same month, with the final women's ladder race on the 24th of the same month.

For his part, the Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee of the Championship, Omair bin Juma Al Falasi, stressed: “The selection of the races and their dates in this edition came after integrated technical studies that include providing the opportunity for the participating riders to provide the best performance, and all the factors and accumulated experiences that we gained in the past five editions were taken into account , until we reached the final form of the races for the championship, and the agenda of the various international competitions that will be organized in the country and the region was taken into account.”

He added: “We have made sure that the championship is an important annual event that participates in the national celebrations, in addition to being strong and diverse competitions that raise the level of our riders, and that they have societal goals by continuing our endeavor to promote sports as a way of life, following the approach of our wise leadership, and taking advantage of what the government has provided. Al Rasheeda has facilities and services that allow everyone to practice sports, especially bicycles, which Dubai is one of the most important destinations for this sport and is a bike-friendly city.”

And the Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee of the tournament concluded: “The sixth edition of the tournament provides many messages confirming the status of sport in our society, including participating in the celebrations of the golden jubilee of our dear country’s union, celebrating the hosting of Expo 2020 Dubai, and also including the Hatta region in this season’s calendar for the first time, as One of the wonderful areas, and the definition of our great potential as a tourist area, and also a distinguished area for practicing various sports, including cycling.”
