PSG like to feed the newspaper columns for facts having nothing to do with football.

Wednesday, November 10, it is its women's football section that is in the spotlight with a murky case: the ambush attack last week of Kheira Hamraoui, French international, for which her teammate Aminata Diallo was questioned.

On the field, sportingly, Kheira Hamraoui and Aminata Diallo are competing for a position in the midfielder of Paris SG, but also within the French women's team.

Last Thursday, the two players returned together, in the same vehicle, from a dinner organized by their club, when they were victims of an assault.

Masked unknowns attacked Kheira Hamraoui, hitting her in the legs with iron bars, according to the story made by the newspaper L'Équipe, which sources familiar with the matter were able to confirm to AFP.

Aminata Diallo, she would have been retained by the attackers, but not victim of physical violence, specified to AFP a source within the club.

The case, known to all the players of the club, did not prevent PSG from brilliantly passing its first European test of the season, Tuesday evening against Real Madrid (4-0) in the Champions League ahead of more 16,000 supporters at the Parc des Princes.

Kheira Hamraoui, officially unavailable for "personal reasons", had left her place on the field that evening to Aminata Diallo, her usual club double, who played the game almost in full.

Aminata Diallo in custody

On Wednesday morning, the latter, aged 26, was arrested in Marly-le-Roi (Yvelines) and placed in police custody by the brigade of repression of the banditry of the judicial police of Versailles, seized by the prosecutor's office of Versailles, we learned from a source with knowledge of the file.

This unexpected development made the club react, which until now considered Diallo one of the victims of the aggression.

The PSG expressed itself via a press release in which it "takes note of the custody" of the midfielder, while condemning "with the greatest firmness the violence committed" last week.

"Since Thursday evening November 4, the club has taken all necessary measures to guarantee the health, well-being and safety of its players," he added.

Returning this summer to Paris, after a first visit to the capital (2012-2016), Hamraoui has established herself at the age of 31 among the reigning French champions, after winning the Women's Champions League with FC Barcelona last May.

Long snubbed by coach Corinne Deacon, she was recalled to the France team in October, after two and a half years of absence.

But she couldn't honor the summons due to an injury.

Corinne Deacon had then called back in reinforcement ... Diallo, whose seventh and last selection dates back to April 2018. The Parisian, loaned in recent months to Royals Utah (United States) and Atlético Madrid (Spain), n ' however, did not have a single minute of play.

The trail of an internal rivalry at PSG, put forward by a source with L'Équipe, rekindled the memory of the Harding-Kerrigan affair, which shook the world of figure skating before the 1994 Winter Olympics.

The New York Post tabloid compares the attack in France against Kheira Hamraoui of @PSG_English to that perpetrated against figure skater Nancy Kerrigan in 1994. With Aminata Diallo as Tonya Harding.

The American skater Nancy Kerrigan, silver medalist during this Olympiad, had been attacked a few weeks earlier with the iron bar, at the level of a leg, during an ambush orchestrated by the entourage of Tonya Harding, one of its rivals on the ice.
