The Japan Association of Athletics Federations, which is aiming for further strengthening for the next Paris tournament, has been selecting a successor to Chairman Kazunori Asaba, but has appointed Mr. Yamazaki, who has been in charge of strengthening tracks and field events so far. bottom.



Mr. Yamazaki is 50 years old from Saitama prefecture.


A former Japanese record holder in the men's 400-meter hurdles, he has participated in the Olympic Games for the third consecutive time since the Barcelona Games, and was the first Japanese athlete to advance to the finals in the 1995 World Championships.



After retiring, he has been supervising the track and field club at his alma mater, Juntendo University, and has been working hard to train the junior generation at the Japan Association of Athletics Federations.
