Ten days of crossing in water at 10 ° Celsius, 122 kilometers in total autonomy, and all while towing a boat of almost 500 kilos.
This is
the crazy challenge
launched by the quad-amputee swimmer Théo Curin, 21 years old.
There he trained the former
pool
champion
Malia Metella
and Matthieu Witvoet who defines himself as an eco-adventurer.
The three swimmers set off on Wednesday morning, Wednesday 10 November, on Lake Titicaca, at an altitude of 3,800 meters.
They will be alone, the logistics team does not follow them in their journey, which means having to manage everything themselves.
"
Everyone will swim in one hour increments, in the morning and in the afternoon,
" for a daily average of 12 kilometers, explains Paralympic athlete Théo Curin.

They have been training for months to complete this project.
The three athletes went to Tignes in particular, in the French Alps, but also to Font-Romeu, in the Pyrenees, to the altitude training center, because the lack of oxygen will be one of the many difficulties to be faced.
