Yesterday morning, the delegation of the cycling team left to participate in the Arab Bike Festival, which is being held in Egypt, and which witnesses the participation of 17 Arab countries, during the period from 12 to 28 November, in the largest Arab combined cycling championship, and the UAE team participates with a mission of 56 people. Among the riders, led by the star Youssef Mirza, and a distinguished administrative and technical delegation.

The delegation was accompanied by the Vice-President of the Federation, Khalifa bin Omair, as head of the mission, until November 20, which will witness the presence of Mansour Bouassiba, President of the Federation, and Yasser Al-Doukhi, Secretary-General, who will lead the mission until the end of the tournament.

The president of the Federation, Mansour Bouasaiba, told «Emirates Today»: "The team left five days before the start of the tournament to enter a training camp in preparation for the event in which the board of directors was keen to participate in all competitions, in addition to the participation of the female and youth team, to be the largest mission in the history of cycling. The UAE is participating in an external championship, and this came after a year of hard work, the goal of which was to build a large base of riders in various categories, as well as the female team, to start participating in the Gulf and Arab foreign championships, including to the largest level in Asia.

The Federation was keen to participate in all the championship competitions on the road, track, mountain bike race and BMX RACE, which is the first time that the UAE has participated in this type of race.

With the national team, there is Captain Abdullah Sweidan, the technical director, in addition to the technical and administrative staff for all categories.
