The 22-year-old Swede is now the only one in history to win all competitions in the World Cup in one and the same season, take home the world championship and win The triple crown.

- I needed to win all the competitions this season to secure the titles and it was far from obvious.

To now stand here feels completely unreal, says Johansson.

The first ride decided

There were 13 skiers in the final and Johansson started last in the field.

The Swede put down an almost perfect ride and got 95.75 in points.

- I really tried to look at the competition like any other so as not to put too much pressure on myself and I managed to stay quite calm and focused.

With that ride, the pressure was great on the other riders but no one managed to challenge Johansson.

Second place went to the Frenchman Timothé Bringer, 93.25 points.

Back after illness

Third place went to American Nicholai Rogatkin with 92 points.

The final's second Swede Max Fredriksson just missed the podium and finished in fourth place with 88 points.

Emil Johansson's path to the top of the world has been everything else is straightforward.

He broke through as a 17-year-old and took home the overall World Cup.

Then he contracted a mysterious disease that caused him to miss basically two full seasons.

Biggest prize money ever

After many examinations and hospital visits, the doctors came to the conclusion that he was suffering from Hashimoto's disease.

Hashimoto's disease is an autoimmune disease that affects the thyroid gland.

An autoimmune disease means that the immune system does not function properly and attacks the body's own tissue.

- It has been really tough for long moments but now it feels really wonderful.

With the victory at the end of the season, he thus takes home all three titles this year and with that three victory checks for a total of 60,000 dollars, which corresponds to just over 520,000 kronor.

It is the largest prize money in the history of the sport.
