Spaniard Pedro Acosta became the second youngest world champion in history in the Moto 3 class on Sunday, when he won him at the age of 17 by winning the Algarve Grand Prix, the 17th penultimate stage of the MotoGP World Championship, at Portimão, Portugal.

The KTM team rider imposed himself as a star in his first participation in his professional career in the World Championship, raising his yield of victories to six in 17 stages so far, after Doha, Portugal, Spain, Germany and Styria in Austria.

Acosta compensated for his missed opportunity to be the youngest world champion in history two weeks ago in the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix in Italy when he finished third.
