The Los Angeles Lakers have kicked off the NBA season and last night they lost a big lead again - this time by 19 points - and lost at home in the Staples Center.

Superstar LeBron James resigned from the match due to a stretch in his abdominal muscle, and is expected to be out for at least a week.

In his absence, radar partner Anthony Davis shone who topped the team's statistics for points (29), rebounds (18) and assists (5).

Still, it was the opposing team's top name, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who got to take on the role of hero.

He was noted for 28 points, eleven of which in the final period.

Delicacy from half level

The real delicacy was a three-pointer from a low distance from the outside, almost half a plane, which meant a six-point lead and 101-95 with only 1.18 left on the clock.

- Normally, I do not shoot from there during a match, but only in training, but I had self-confidence and felt hot today, says "SGA" to nba.com.

Lakers veteran Carmelo Anthony put a three-pointer in the final stage if meant a point difference, but a slightly comic turnover by star Russell Westbrook with 21 seconds left and two penalty throws by Luguentz Dort meant victory for the guests with 107-104.

Just won against the Lakers

Oklahoma, who are 12th in the Western Conference, have won just two of their eight games this season.

Both victories have come against the LA Lakers despite major disadvantages in the matches.

Last night it was 19 points, last time it was 26.

- We respect all the talent they have in the team, but with that said, we also want to show what we stand for.

They have a lot of players who have done many good things, but we are here to compete, says the hero Gilgeous-Alexander.

The Los Angeles Lakers, who are currently sixth in the West, had three straight victories ahead of tonight's round.

- It was not about LeBron not being with us today.

We're okay, but it hurts to lose twice against the same team and in the same way.

This is something we must take responsibility for, says 37-year-old Carmelo Anthony.

Russell Westbrook:

- We have not had a full team in a single match this season, but must do the best we can anyway.
