The German athletes drive to the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Beijing in yellow and black jackets and red caps.

Based on the national colors, the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) and the German Disabled Sports Association (DBS) presented the suits of Adidas on Wednesday in Düsseldorf a good three months before the start of the games.

"It is precisely these moments that awaken this tingling sensation and that special flair of the Olympic Games over and over again," said three-time Olympic champion Eric Frenzel.

The Nordic combined competitor had already participated in the presentation for the 2018 Winter Games in Pyeongchang.

“It's wonderful to wear, and I actually didn't want to take it off,” added Paralympic skier Martin Fleig at the presentation.

The collection should embody a kind of "rebellious optimism", it said in an advertising message on Wednesday.

The national colors black, red and gold have been reinterpreted for this.

In addition to the black winter jackets with the yellow block pattern and the black trousers, the athletes receive red and yellow training jackets, among other things.

The scarf and the red cap with a tiger head are even more eye-catching.

2022 is the year of the tiger in the Chinese horoscope.

The accessories were designed by the former cross-country skier Stefanie Böhler.

"I hope that it just strengthens this team spirit, community and team spirit," she said.

The Winter Games will be held in the Chinese capital from February 4th to 20th and the Winter Paralympics from March 4th to 13th.
