まずは報道各社の皆様、ファイターズが日頃、大変お世話になっております。

この場をお借りしまして感謝申し上げます。ありがとうございます。

今隣に座っている新庄新監督の現役時代を思い返せば、新庄劇場と称されましたパフォーマンスの数々といった華やかな一面が非常に印象深いわけですけども、その一方で「札幌ドームを満員にする」、さらには「チームを日本一にする」といったことを宣言され、それを有言実行するために綿密な戦略立て、それに対して影での努力を惜しまないという方だということは、当時を知る者の共通認識でございます。

今回、新庄新監督に監督を要請する際に、お願いを2つしております。

1つはチームを勝たしていただきたい。ファンに勝利を届けてもらいたい。常に優勝争いをできるチームにしていただきたいということを申し上げました。

さらにもう1つはファンサービスを実践して、そしてファンに喜びを届けていただきたいという、この2つのことを申し上げました。

その順番は間違えないでいただきたいということも申し上げました。

持ち前の実行力、常識にとらわれない発想力を持ってすれば、この2つのミッションは必ず成し遂げていただけるんじゃないかというふうに考えております。

彼はセ・リーグ、パ・リーグ、メジャーリーグという非常に豊富な経験を持っております。

この経験をもとに、若い選手を育成頂けるんじゃないかというふうに思っています。

そういった中で、強いファイターズを復活させていただけるというふうに信じております。

（質問）今監督就任会見に臨む心境を。

（新庄）いや正直、自分がいちばーんびっくりしています、はい。もう僕でいいのかなという思いの反面、僕しかいないなと。日本ハムも変えていきますし、僕がプロ野球を変えていきたいなという気持ちで帰ってきました。

（質問）監督オファーはいつごろあったのか、初めて聞いた時どう感じたか。

（新庄）あのですね。2年前、僕が48歳でトライアウトを受けるという発言をして、それで1年間、海外のほうでトレーニングをしました。トライアウト前に日本ハムの球団の方から「新庄さんお元気ですか？トライアウト頑張ってください。いつかまた会える日を楽しみにしています」ってきたんですよ、1通のメールが。よしよし、選手に戻れると。そのオファーだなと思い、トライアウトを受けました。で、6日間という日にちしか待たないと、6日間来なかったら、もう野球を辞めると。で、5日目たち、6日目たち、来ない。あら！？おかしいじゃないかと。そこで、選手は復帰できなかったんですけど、そこからあの1通のメールというものは、必ず何かあると自分で勝手に信じて、1年間12球団2軍の選手のプレーを一生懸命自分で勝手に勉強して、こういう姿っていうものは、必ず誰かが見てくれている。それを信じて、10月12日になんと僕が描いてた、この監督の話をいただいて。もう自分がやってきたことは間違いじゃなかったんだという、本当にやってきてよかったなという気持ちでしたね。

（質問）オファーの理由や期待していることはどう伝えられたか。

（新庄）どうでしたっけ？

（新庄）うーん。イメージ的には堅い、なんかこう真面目な顔して腕組んで、やってるようなイメージなんですけど、これからは僕が監督像というものを変えていきます。はい。

（質問）今思い描いていることは。

（新庄）これから1年目だし、どういうふうになるかわからないんですけど、やっていくうちに僕がやることに対して全国のみんなが僕の監督像というものを作ってくれると思うので、それを期待したいですね。

（質問）名刺には監督という文字がないが。

（新庄）監督って皆さん呼ばないでください、ビッグボス！ビッグボスでお願いします。ビッグボスが好きなんですよ。新庄監督とか僕いらないですね、はい。ビックボスでお願いします、選手も。

（質問）ビッグボスにした理由は。

（新庄）インドネシア・バリ島のほうでビックボスと呼ばれてたんで、それで。僕の人生ってそんなもんなんですよ。もうもう、その時その時で、“カン”ピューターでこういうふうにしたいというものに、突き進んでいるだけなんで。まぁまぁ小学3年生がちょっと中学生になったぐらいですよね、はい。

（質問）引退後は野球とどのような距離感だったか。

（新庄）全くないです。引退して野球を見ることはほとんどなかったですね。だからある意味、今のプロ野球、若い子が時代が時代が、時代がって、もう。なんか時代に逃げてる感じがするんですよね、僕は。だからある意味、いい意味でも悪い意味でも、16年間むこうにいて、時代をわかっていないんで、新庄剛志らしくどんどんどんどん、時代の怖さなんか関係なく、突き進んでいけたらいいなと思っています。

（新庄）まずは顔を変えていこうかなと思って。いいですよね？あの…やっぱり気持ちの面ですね。このプロ野球という世界に入ってくる選手というのは、一緒なんですよレベルはもうほぼほぼ一緒。ただメンタル的な問題であって、それをメンタル的に伸ばせないコーチ、監督がいたと思うんですけど、僕はそのメンタル的なものに関してはものすごく引き出す力が自分にあると思うので、そのメンタル的なものを鍛えながら、あとはチームにピッチャー3人、野手4人のタレントを作りあげていけば、楽しいチームになるし、そういうタレントが生まれることは、全国に名前も背番号も顔も名前も覚えてもらえるんで。その時にはもう強くなっていると思うので、そういうチームを作っていきたいと思っているし、ことしドラフトで80人弱とったんですよね？全員がドラフトでかかった選手と思ってるんで、レギュラーなんか1人も決まっていません。新人、2年目、3年目の選手がキャンプで伸びた時に、全部若い選手で固めるかもしれないし、開幕投手が誰とか全く決めてないし、ことし入ったね、ドラフト1位の子が開幕投手で投げているかもしれないし、そういった争いをどんどんさせたいとは思いますね。

（質問）畑オーナーに。どんな野球を展開してくれそうか。

（畑オーナー）私も胸が踊ったり、ドキドキハラハラしておりますけども。まずファンの皆様、多くの皆様が次も試合を見たい、また次も球場に行ってみたいと思えるような、そういうファイターズにしていただきたいと思っています。一挙手一投足から目が離せない、ボスだけではなくですね、選手を魅力ある選手をしっかり育成していただきたいなと願っています。そして世界がまだ見ぬボールパーク、これが2023年にスタートします。それに向けてのステージと、来シーズンは期待したいと考えています。

（質問）全国の皆さんにメッセージを。

（新庄）暴れまっせーほんまに！はい！楽しみにしておいてください。新しい野球というものを作っていきますんで、こうご期待。

あと最後にあの、僕とあっちゃん、稲葉くんでタッグを組んでいくんですけど、僕たち1年目じゃないですか。この上で、吉村前GMという人の力っていうのはものすごく大事になってくるし、吉村GMがいてくれないと僕はもうあの、嫌だし。吉村前GMの推薦で僕はこの場所にいられるんで、これからはわからないことがあったら、吉村前GMに聞いて相談してけんかしながら、あっちゃん、稲葉GMと一緒にタッグを組んで、もちろん球団も、あとはファンのみんなと一緒に、楽しく厳しくやっていきたいなと思います。

（質問）もう我慢ならない時には、オーナーや社長に選手契約申し出て“代打、俺”あるか。

（新庄）実はことし1年、野球の勉強しながら体は作ってきました。あと1回トライアウトを受けるチャンスがあるので、それは今ちょっと考えています。そこで監督の僕が、あの選手いいやんって、取ったろうかなっていう考えはちょっと頭の中にはあります。後は球団と話し合います。

（質問）服の襟の立ち具合は何点か。

（新庄）短いね、まだ。もうちょっと長いほうがよかったね。今後ともよろしくお願いします。

（質問）以前YouTubeで、先ほど質問した岩本さんを“ピッチャー監督”にすると言ってたが。

（新庄）ピッチャー監督ね、やっぱり僕目立ちたいんで、僕1人でいいかなと思う言う気持ちになって。僕、めちゃくちゃ僕が目立ちます。ガンちゃんごめんね。あはは、はい。

(Question) What is the point of today's fashion?

(Shinjo) The point of fashion, I'm myself, Tsuyoshi Shinjo himself, so I don't really think about fashion for clothes.

（質問）夢とは、年齢を重ねて変化は。

（新庄）僕ね、夢は5、6個かなえてきてるので、もう飽きちゃいましたね。もう、はい。夢というかもう人生毎日こう楽しいこと見つけて、それを積み重ねてどんどんどんどんやっていって夢はかなってると僕は思うんで、はい。夢はないかなー、今は。

（質問）監督としての夢は。

（新庄）世界一の球団、世界一のチームにしたいですね。それはやっぱり、それこそ夢ではないけどでっかい目標として置いておきたいですね。そのためには全国のファンの力っていうものはものすごく大事であって、北海道のファン、日本ハムと北海道。なんかこう北海道の場所が日本ハムと一緒に生活をしていけたら最高だと僕は思ってるんで。ひとりひとりの笑顔を少しずつ増やしていけたらうれしいですね。

（質問）プロ野球のどこから変えていきたいか。

（新庄）まずは作戦面、こういう野球でヒットを打たなくても点は取れるんだぞという、その作戦面でのおもしろさ、こんなやりかたがあるんだと僕たちが先に発信をして、ほかの球団がまねされるような感じには考えてますね。そのためには、選手が僕の考えをしっかり把握してもらって、ついてきてもらえないことにはできないんで、それを早く選手と会って、伝えていきたいなというのは思います。

（質問）新しいスタイルを作る。

(Shinjo) Yes.

（質問）選手の生活面にも目を光らせるのか。

（新庄）もちろんです。やっぱり人間性というものは大事であって、人の悪口を言わない、いただきます、ありがとうございましたの言える選手を育てていきたいですね。僕はちゃらんぽらんにしてますけど、そういう上下関係はもうタイガース時代から、ちっちゃい頃から親の教育でしっかりしたものをもってたので、そういうものをずっと続けて、皆さんに納得してもらってこういう立場に立たせてもらったんで、やっぱり選手には日々のプライベートの生活は後に役立つよっていうのを本当に教えていきたいなって思うし、まあプレーはね、実はみんなすごくうまいんですよ。あるきっかけをつかんでもらえれば、どっかんと期待はしてるので、あとは人間性というのはなかなか変わらないと思うんで、僕は（森本）稀哲、最初、稀哲はバッティングコーチが「稀哲、こうやって打てよ」と言ってて、稀哲が「は？結局打ちゃいいんでしょ」みたいな。性格だったんですよ。これじゃあダメだと。「おい稀哲来い」と。プライベートから一緒に住んで、人間性を変えて生活をさせて、そしたらレギュラーをとり、気がついたら1億円プレーヤーになって、今はすばらしい大人になってると思うので、そういうところを変えていけたらいいと思います。

（質問）稲葉監督と話は。

（新庄）ほぼほぼの球団は、GMと監督っていう仲は悪いと思うんですよ。でもこの球団は違います。僕はあっちゃんと会った時に「GM？ううん。あなたはGM券左バッター専用のバッティングコーチをジャージを着てでやってください」。僕も監督兼外野守備コーチという気持ちでやるんで、この日本ハム、新しいチームは何でもトライしていくチームにしていきます。GMでこんなだったら（てんぐの鼻ポーズ）僕へしおりますよ。

（質問）選手たちに何を告げたいか。

（新庄）あのね、僕ね選手の顔と名前全く知らないんですよ。ただ1年間、勉強してプレーはしっかりインプットしています。だからキャンプに行って、顔と名前とプレーの答え合わせしていって、いいチームを作っていきます。だからみんなこのラインは一緒。そのためには、キャンプに入るまで、このスタートラインに立った時には、ほぼほぼ僕はレギュラーは決まっていると思うんですよ。だからオフシーズンで自分でいろいろ考えて体を作って頭の中をアップデートして、このラインに立ってここからみんなで楽しく厳しく、もう厳しくはなると思います。僕がやってきたんで。そういうふうな気持ちでオフシーズンを過ごしてください。もう飽きてきました。もういいですかね（笑）。

（質問）監督になって目指す野球やチーム像は。

（新庄）僕が今まで17歳から34歳までプロ野球人生を送って、ちょっとほかの選手とは頭の中が違うんですよね。いろんなコーチ、選手、先輩たちと話しても「まだそこのレベル？」っていう感じで話がよく合わなかったんですよ。だから、早く選手にインプットしてもらって。あのね、僕一応、自分の考えというものを野村さんじゃないけど、本にして渡そうかなと。だからこの本を読んで、新庄剛志っていうものを早く知ってくれっていうふうに渡していきます。質問とちょっと違った？答え。大丈夫？。

言い忘れてましたが、球団から10年契約結んでほしいって言われたんですけど、僕1年契約ずつなんで、はい。1年1年を勝負していきたい。複数年契約をすると甘えが出てくるんで、いいことは1つもないんですよ。だから1年1年の勝負。来年こういう場所にいないかもしれないっていうね。それを伝えたかったです。1年契約。クビになるかもしれないし、また契約を結んでもらえるかもしれないんで。よろしくお願いします。
