Jordan celebrates the league champion.. the echo of the Ramthawiya chants is higher than the unity

Jordanian football fans will be on a date tomorrow, Thursday, to know the league champion in its 69th edition between leaders Ramtha and Al-Wehdat, the champion of last season, when they play the last twenty-second stage against Al-Jazira and Al-Aqaba youth, respectively.


Al-Ramtha leads the standings with 46 points, two points ahead of Al-Wehdat, and a draw at Amman International Stadium will be enough to win the third title in its history after 1981 and 1982, while Al-Wehdat needs to beat Shabab Aqaba ninth (25 points) at King Abdullah II Stadium in Amman with a loss. Al-Ramtha in front of Al-Jazirah Seventh (27 points), to raise its titles to 18 titles.


Ramtha president Awni Al-Zoubi said that his team "will not neglect the historical opportunity available and will play to win and crown together to complete the joys of the fans of the city of Ramtha and the team's fans spread all over the Kingdom," revealing the huge celebrations that the city will witness and a massive procession with an open bus from Amman Stadium to the city Ramtha, adjacent to the Syrian border.


Its veteran international captain Hamza Al-Dardour, contender for the top scorer title, confirmed his confidence in all his fellow players, the technical and administrative staff and the team's fans "to stand united to achieve the desired goal," indicating his anticipation of the historic moment by lifting the league cup that he crowned with Al-Wehdat three seasons ago.


Al-Ramtha is also looking to end the capital's clubs' monopoly on the league title since 1983, noting that Al-Ramtha was the first team outside the capital to win the Jordanian League title in 1981.


On the other hand, Al-Wehdat is looking forward to maintaining the leadership of Jordanian football, as it has a record of 51 titles (17 in the league, 14 in the Cup Winners' Cup, 10 in the Jordan Cup, and 10 in the Union Shield competition), while Al-Ramtha has 11 titles (5 in the Shield). Al-Ittihad, two titles in the Cup Winners’ Cup, and two titles in the Jordan Cup and the League).


It is noteworthy that Al-Faisaly club was the first to win the league title in 1944 and it owns (78) local titles, (34 in the league, 17 in the Cup Winners' Cup, 20 in the Jordan Cup, 7 in the Union Shield).
