Midfielder Christian Eriksen, who suffered a heart attack during the Euro 2020 match in the summer, may return to the field in the coming months.

According to journalist Nikola Skira, Ajax Amsterdam, for which he played from 2009 to 2013, is showing interest in the football player belonging to Inter Milan.

Last week, the bosses of the Italian club expressed their readiness to sell the Danish to a club from a country where medical protocols will allow him to resume his career.

In the Apennine Peninsula, there are strict restrictions on playing sports with a cardioverter-defibrillator, given to a football player after a sudden cardiac arrest.

It is for this reason that he no longer has the right to train at a professional level, and even more so to play in Serie A. Inter did not even include him in the application for this season.

In the Netherlands, athletes are allowed to compete with such devices.

For example, in the same "Ajax" with a defibrillator, Daily Blind, who was operated on on December 21, 2019, enters the field.

“With regard to the registration rights of Christian Eriksen, it should be noted that after a serious incident during the European Championships in June 2021, Italian doctors temporarily banned him from sports activities in the current season.

Although the current condition of the football player does not meet the requirements for sportswear in Italy, he can resume competitive activities in other countries, ”the Milan club said in a statement.

However, the player still has a theoretical chance to resume his career in Italy, but for this he needs to prove to local doctors that heart problems are caused only by a temporary illness or a virus.

In this case, the athlete will have to get rid of the implant and recover for at least six months.

It is also unclear how the removal of the defibrillator will ultimately affect the player's health.

However, the Italian media exclude such a development of events, and Eriksen himself is attracted by the option of returning to the Netherlands.

The agent of the 29-year-old midfielder Martin Scouts, in turn, notes that the client is in good shape.

According to him, during his forced vacation, Christian spends a lot of time with his family, and the situation with his future will become clear in the near future.

“Every footballer has a price.

Since Christian has a contract with Inter, technically this also applies to him.

This is all a purely financial issue that has little to do with Christian personally, ”said Scoots.

At the same time, rumors spread in September that Eriksen would be able to resume training after a positive verdict from doctors.

The footballer had to start exercising on a stationary bike, running exercises and light work with the ball.

However, he could only do this in Denmark.

Moreover, it is not known whether Christian eventually began to train.

Officially, the midfielder planned to return to big football at the end of this year or early next year.

Eriksen passed out during the first round of the European Championship group stage match between Denmark and Finland, which took place on 12 June at Parken Stadium in Copenhagen. The home team leader unexpectedly collapsed on the lawn shortly before the end of the first half. The incident horrified both the fans and the players present on the field. The Danish captain Kjer immediately ran up to Eriksen to provide first aid: he checked if he had swallowed his tongue and turned it over on its side. Simon also asked his teammates to surround Christian in order to hide him from prying eyes while the doctors provided first aid to the victim.

The doctors fought for the life of the Inter football player for several minutes and gave him a heart massage.

The tragedy was avoided.

Eriksen came to his senses and was hospitalized, and already in the hospital, the athlete underwent an operation, during which they installed him a device to combat cardiac arrhythmia.

The midfielder had to miss the rest of the Euro.

However, the Danes managed to get to the semifinals without their leader, and they devoted each of the victories mainly to Eriksen.

As the head coach of the Scandinavians Kasper Juhlmann noted, after what happened to Christian, everything changed for him, and the incident itself, to some extent, inspired the wards.

Kier later also admitted that the national team, in the absence of Christian, added incredibly, although the partners missed him.

At Inter, however, they were surprised by what happened to the midfielder.

According to a representative of the medical headquarters, Eriksen never had complaints or medical contraindications related to heart failure.

In addition, it was noted that he did not suffer from coronavirus before the European Championships.

The doctors and Kjer who participated in the rescue of Eriksen were later honored by UEFA President Alexander Čeferin.

“We will keep what happened in our memory for the rest of our lives.

The team responded to the situation as a whole.

We did everything to preserve this unity ... I try to be the leader of the team both on the field and beyond, in all areas of life.

I think this is one of the main privileges in my career.

We have known Christian for many years.

He has a great family, many friends, everyone wishes him all the best, ”said Kjer after the award.

Eriksen himself thanked his friend, teammates and the entire medical team that helped him and saved his life.
